I am in the process of purchasing a commercial subscription of CUBA Studio, but the prospective client asked to see the roadmap for the tool I will be using for creating her solution. There is one promised for 2021, which is practically 90 days away. Is it ready? Published somewhere? I have looked for it without success. In these uncertain times I think the client asked for something very reasonable: she wants to think of me as the creator of her solution but also as the single point of failure, because CUBA has a bright future ahead! I need the roadmap to show her.

Hi @otto,
This is a fair question :). We do plan to publish our official roadmap in December 2020. Still, I can give you some bits before we post the roadmap:
- We plan to move infrastructure to Spring Boot, which will make CUBA apps closer to the clouds and allow developers to take an advantage of Spring Boot ecosystem.
- The core platform will be decomposed by a number of independent modules (such as file storage, audit and so on), that you will be able to add to your application if required. This will make applications smaller.
- Provide new APIs for various parts to grow platform flexibility. E.g. clustering will use an API, which will not nail you down to a specific implementation. Same fair for auditing, localization, file storage and so on.
- Provide better and more “RAD” kind of integration with React-based frontends, making application development way easier.
These are the major things I can unfold. Follow our blog and social networks to be sure you are not missing important news as well as our roadmap!

Aleksey

Hi @v10190,
Unfortunately, Vaadin 14 still doesn’t show any decent widgetset comparable with Vaadin 8. This happens to be a blocking factor for moving further.
