I’m trying to create an import configuration to be used from a screen, but when saving it does not do anything.

It is simple, it simply does not save, it does not generate an error when clicking on Ok

Problem is that it does not generate any type of error or exception

i tried your example. Everything works as expected. I used the following xslx file:
